Liza Stapleford, MD

Radiation Oncologist Atlanta | Liza Stapleford, MD Liza Stapleford, MD is a board-certified radiation oncologist who received her MD from Tufts University before completing her training in radiation oncology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Delaware.

Dr. Stapleford worked as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Emory University for a number of years, where she specialized in aerodigestive and thoracic cancers. In addition, she helped develop a multi-disciplinary lung cancer clinic and conducted research in the technical aspects of radiation delivery, treatment response assessment, and image-guided treatments.

Dr. Stapleford has written and co-authored a number of publications, abstracts and book chapters. She has actively participated in clinical research trials and was a member of the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) Lung Cancer Committee as well as committee member of the Georgia Radiological Society (GRS).

In her free time, Dr. Stapleford enjoys running, traveling, and soccer. She has a passion for international healthcare and has spent time working in Honduras and Zambia.
